Fugitive of the Week, Jason William Chapman, In Custody

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces the arrest of former Fugitive of the Week, Jason William Chapman, 49, wanted on a parole violation warrant stemming from an underlying conviction of Burglary (NH RSA 635:1).

Chapman was previously highlighted as the Department's Fugitive of the Week on March 27, 2024. On April 14, 2024, Somersworth Police officers pulled over a vehicle and Chapman was a passenger. Recognizing Chapman from the FOW posting, officers approached the situation with caution. Initially Chapman provided a false name, however, officers identified him through distinctive tattoos, prompting Chapman to admit his identity. Chapman was taken into custody without incident and is currently housed at the Strafford County House of Corrections awaiting legal proceedings.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections thanks the Somersworth Police Department for their assistance with this case.

The Fugitive of the Week program was launched by the Department of Corrections in March of last year to encourage public assistance in locating individuals who have absconded from supervision. Each Wednesday, the Department shares information on a specific fugitive through various communications platforms, and with law enforcement through the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center.
