Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility (NNHCF)

The Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility, often abbreviated to NNHCF or NCF, opened in the year 2000 and is a state-of-the-art facility offering numerous programs, education, and industries to the resident population. NCF is host to two FOCUS Program housing units that integrate evidence-based practices to increase access to and retention in treatment, decrease the use of alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, and increase positive family relationships.

The Division of Rehabilitative Services at the Northern Correctional Facility provides education, training, skills, and personal development opportunities that encourage positive work habits, promote pro-social behaviors, and prepare offenders for re-entry to the community. Content areas of services include Re-entry Programming, Family Connections Center, Granite State High School, Career & Technical Education Center, Library, Law Library, Volunteer Services, Spiritual Care, and Case Management.

Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility is in Berlin, New Hampshire, in the heart of the White Mountains, and historically was a paper mill town. The staff comes from various backgrounds such as paper machine operators, millwrights, woodsmen, and support staff within the mills in town. Others have come from all over the United States to enjoy the tranquility of the White Mountains.
