Honor Guard Unit

Created in 1994, the NHDOC Honor Guard Unit represents the department at ceremonial functions.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections' Honor Guard Unit serves as a tribute to personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice and on other occasions represents the solemn commitment made by all responders. The Honor Guard Unit also pays tribute to deceased active and retired personnel.

The NHDOC Honor Guard Unit was established in 1994 to represent the department at ceremonial functions. Today, it has grown to an elite team consisting of sworn members, all having received extensive training in marching, team movement, casket movement, flag folding, and rifle drills. Members of the unit must maintain a high degree of professional demeanor, physical fitness, impeccable uniform standards, and embody the ideals of Dedication, One Team and Courage. The team regularly participates in parades, as well as local, state, and regional memorial services and other special events.
