Fugitives of the Week, Paul James LaPlante, and Leroy Howard Boynton in Custody
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that former Fugitive of the Week, Paul James LaPlante, turned himself in to the Cheshire County Department of Corrections on September 26, 2024. LaPlante was wanted on a probation violation, stemming from an underlying conviction of indecent exposure/lewdness (NH RSA 645:1). LaPlante was featured as the Fugitive of the Week on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. LaPlante is currently being held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections awaiting arraignment for failing to register as a sex offender, and for a bail hearing on his violation of probation charge. Additionally, the New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that former Fugitive of the week, Leroy Howard Boynton, was arrested by Belknap County Sheriff’s Deputies on September 27, 2024, on Lafayette Street in Laconia. During the search conducted at the time of his arrest, controlled drugs were discovered, leading to additional charges for possession. Boynton was featured as the Department’s Fugitive of the Week on July 10, 2024. The Fugitive of the Week program was launched by the Department of Corrections in March of 2023 and each Wednesday, the Department shares information on a specific fugitive through various communications platforms, and with law enforcement through the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center. ###
