Fugitive of the Week, John Patrick Bauer, in Custody

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that John Patrick Bauer, previously featured as Fugitive of the Week, has been taken into custody.

Bauer was wanted for a probation violation stemming from a conviction for Simple Assault – Domestic Violence and was highlighted in the Fugitive of the Week program on March 5, 2025. Late in the evening on May 27, 2025, Bauer was apprehended by the York County Sheriff’s Department in Maine.

Investigators had been developing leads since late last week that suggested Bauer was residing at an address in Lebanon, Maine. York County deputies acted on that information and placed Bauer under arrest without incident. He will be charged as a fugitive from justice, and upon resolution of that matter, will be extradited back to New Hampshire to face multiple charges.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections extends its appreciation to the York County Sheriff’s Office for their cooperation and assistance in apprehending Bauer.

The Fugitive of the Week program, launched by the Department of Corrections in March 2023, shares information every Wednesday about individuals wanted on active warrants through various communications platforms. It engages the public and law enforcement agencies via the New Hampshire Information and Analysis Center (NHIAC). This collaborative approach continues to play a vital role in bringing fugitives to justice and keeping our communities safe.
