Fugitive of the Week 2024 Year in Review
CONCORD, NH – The New Hampshire Fugitive of the Week program wraps up its second year with continued success. The department launched its Fugitive of the Week program on March 15, 2023. While the program began last year, the activity being reported here reflects the calendar year of 2024, during which 49 fugitives were featured and their information distributed via radio, social media, and traditional media methods. These efforts have proven successful and have resulted in 33 arrests in 2024. Additionally, 5 more arrests were made in 2024 related to outstanding fugitives featured in 2023. All of these arrests are for probation and parole violations related to an array of underlying offenses that range from assaults, homicide, narcotics charges, larceny, weapons violations, unregistered sex offenders, and numerous other serious offenses.
Statewide the New Hampshire Department of Corrections’ fugitive program is overseen by 11 Field Services district offices. The Fugitive of the Week program represents only one small part of the daily work done by members of the Field Services team, who are responsible for the collection of court-ordered restitution, fines and fees, victim services and probation parole supervision. The Department of Corrections Division of Field Services provides supervision to individuals placed on probation, parole, and administrative home confinement. Probation parole officers assist supervisees through coaching them through their community reintegration and connecting them to important resources in order to ensure they are law-abiding while monitoring their behavior through office, home, work, and other types of community contacts.
In total, 33 former Fugitive of the Week offenders were arrested and taken into custody. Of those, three individuals turned themselves in after seeing the Fugitive of the Week announcement. The department received assistance from outside agencies with several fugitives being arrested by local New Hampshire police and sheriff’s departments, the U.S. Marshals Service, and out of state law enforcement agencies. Many of those arrests were the result of tips received from the general public.
Below you will find 16 Fugitives of the Week from 2024 that still remain at large including six for drug offenses, four for violent crimes, and four for thefts, among others. The public is reminded not to attempt to apprehend these individuals themselves and to report any information to the NH Department of Corrections, local police department or call 9-1-1.
The New Hampshire Department of Corrections will continue to spotlight the Fugitive of the Week program every Wednesday via email, radio, and on their Facebook, Instagram, and X social media accounts. When a Fugitive of the Week is no longer wanted, an update will be shared via a news release and also posted on the department’s social media platforms.
